Welcome to Evellum
Evellum is an established leading producer of digital facsimiles, editions and pedagogical tools. Many major universities around the world today use Evellum products; some hold site licences for publications such as Ductus, but arrangements can be made for a site licence for any publication. Evellum.com contains a wealth of information and products for individuals and educational institutions to browse and buy online.
In the Photography section of the Resource Warehouse you'll find many images that can be used in teaching codicology (the study of the book), paleography (the study of ancient handwriting), and many aspects of medieval culture, with special reference to private devotion and the liturgy.
Evellum has a two-tiered pricing schedule whereby Individuals generally pay less than Institutions for an item. When the 'Product Details' link for each item is selected, the 'License Type' field appears under 'Pricing'. Institutional purchasers (Libraries, Universities, Museums, etc.) should select the 'Institutional' charge; the cost for Individuals is the default price.
A new release of 'Ductus: Handwriting and Bookmaking in the Middle Ages' is now available. It is based upon an analysis of 66 sample facsimiles representing Western European scripts from 150-1500 CE.
